01 / Project Overview

PROJECT OVERVIEW

During my internship at B.east Gallery, I supported the research, preparation, and day-to-day work surrounding contemporary art exhibitions. My role included developing public-facing materials, assisting with installations and opening events, organizing artworks, and engaging with visitors.

The internship also included time at CLET Studio, the workspace of one of the artists represented by the gallery. Working across both settings gave me insight into how an artist’s studio practice, gallery representation, exhibition presentation, and audience experience connect.

My Responsibilities

  • Conducted artist and curatorial research for exhibition texts, catalogues, and digital communications.
  • Supported the preparation of visual and written materials for upcoming exhibitions.
  • Assisted with artwork organization, installation, opening events, and daily gallery operations.
  • Welcomed visitors and provided context about the artists and works on view.
  • Supported studio organization, customer engagement, and day-to-day operations at CLET Studio.

SELECTED PROJECT

Délicatesse

My primary exhibition project was Délicatesse, featuring work by Caroline Karenine. After researching the artist and the exhibition’s central themes, I developed the exhibition catalogue, promotional posters, digital announcements, and other public-facing materials used to introduce and communicate the exhibition.

This project gave me direct experience translating curatorial research into a cohesive visual and editorial identity across print materials, social media, the gallery space, and the visitor experience.

04 / What I Learned

WHAT I
LEARNED

B.east gave me practical experience across both gallery and studio environments. I developed a stronger understanding of how research, communication, installation, operations, and audience engagement work together to shape the presentation and reception of contemporary art.
